Super Bowl 59 has been described by some as a ‘clean sweep’ for the Eagles, and excitement is still in the air days after Philadelphia’s team won. Mirroring the 2023 Super Bowl, the matchup of the 2024-2025 football season pitted the Philadelphia Eagles against the Kansas City Chiefs. With excellent performances from star players like Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts, the Eagles secured the win at a score of 40-22. Eagles fans are avidly showing their support throughout Philadelphia, and even a few Green Knights are repping Philadelphia’s green team.

Eagles fans have a history of getting a little wild when the team snags a victory. Following their team’s recent victory against the Washington Commanders, Eagles fans erupted with joy directly outside of their home stadium and across Philadelphia. Fans showed their team spirit by celebrating throughout streets and roads, causing major blockades. While this behavior may seem a little overwhelming, it’s simply the culture of Eagles fans to start a joyful uproar after victory strikes.

There’s even excitement across state lines. Delaware doesn’t have an official NFL team, so Delawareans tend to rally for the Eagles, just as Philadelphia does. As recently as February 5th, Eagles fans congregated at Wilmington’s Rodney Square to enjoy their lunch and show support for their team. While these fans aren’t directly outside the stadium or in Philadelphia, they’re just as confident and supportive as their Philadelphian counterparts.

Here at the home of the Green Knights, staff are also representing Eagles green. It’s a challenge to find someone at Mount who isn’t on Philadelphia’s side, reveling in the sweet taste of victory.

Sunday, February 9th, was game night. America watched pridefully as the Eagles dominated every quarter of the game. Cooper Dejean, A.J. Brown, and DeVonta Smith all scored touchdowns. The writing was on the wall as soon as the 2nd quarter, where Eagles secured a 17-0 lead.

On the 14th of the month, Valentine’s Day, the Eagles’ victory parade swept Philadelphia by storm. The march included several buses filled with Eagles players. It spanned 6 miles in total, starting from the Lincoln Financial Field and ending at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Some 1 million people were in attendance.

All in all, Philadelphia has shown tremendous support for their team. The Eagles gave a stellar performance, and the fans followed up with celebrations lasting days long and ‘concluding’ with the victory parade. But knowing Eagles fans, the festivities have only just begun.
